Free GEO audit

Paste any URL. We fetch it, score it against the 23 GEO signals AI search engines actually use when deciding which pages to cite, and return a prioritized fix list. Same engine that powers CiteClip's article drafter — usable as a standalone audit.

TL;DR: Paste a URL, get a GEO score 0-100, plus 5-15 specific fixes ranked by impact. Free, no signup. Runs in about 8 seconds per URL.

Any public HTML page. Auth-walled pages will return partial results. 5 audits per hour per IP.

Want this happening automatically?

Every article CiteClip drafts ships with the 23 GEO signals baked in — TL;DR block, FAQPage schema, canonical sentence structure, llms.txt mention, and 19 others. Instead of auditing individual URLs after the fact, your content is GEO-ready at publish time. Free 14-day trial, no credit card.

Free trial: 14 days, no credit card. Solo $29/mo · 4 articles · 5 competitors. Growth $99/mo · 12 articles · rank + AI-citation tracking · Stripe MRR attribution.

What we check

We run the same 23-signal detection engine CiteClip uses internally when generating articles. Signals fall into three buckets:

  1. Structural (10 signals) — TL;DR block, FAQPage JSON-LD schema, H2/H3 headings shaped as questions, numbered lists, semantic HTML, meta description length, canonical URL, OpenGraph description alignment, dated recency markers, sentence length distribution.
  2. Authority (8 signals) — explicit author name + bio + published date, at least 3 outbound links to authoritative sources, numeric claims with linked sources, presence of original data or a chart, Article JSON-LD schema, Person JSON-LD schema, HTTPS, indexable robots meta.
  3. Extraction (5 signals) — llms.txt present at the domain root, one canonical fact per sentence, paragraphs under 120 words, related-questions section at the bottom, interactive elements (embed, code sandbox, calculator).

For the full breakdown of each signal, why it matters, and example markup you can copy, read the 23-signal GEO checklist.

FAQ

What's a GEO audit?

Generative Engine Optimization audit. Scores a URL against the on-page signals AI search engines use when deciding which pages to cite. Different from a Google Lighthouse audit — same page can score perfectly on Lighthouse and get zero AI citations because it's missing GEO signals.

Which URLs work?

Any publicly accessible URL that returns HTML. Blog posts, landing pages, documentation, competitor pages. Pages behind auth walls or JS-only apps that don't render server-side will return partial results.

Rate limits?

5 URL audits per hour per IP. Signup is free and unblocks heavier use plus scheduled re-audits.

Is this tool free?

Yes. No signup for a single audit. CiteClip's paid product wires this audit into an article-drafting pipeline that outputs GEO-ready content by default.
